Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort and Spa has been doing grand efforts to care for their destination by participating in different environmental and social programs.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

Protected sea turtle hatching ground

As part of the resort´s designation as a protected hatching ground for the turtles, Dreams Los Cabos staff members have a built a small protective holding area on the resort´s white sand beach.

During the sea turtle´s key nesting months, June through December, the Mexican Navy as well as authorized staff of the resort collect and transfer nests and eggs from surrounding beaches to the Dreams Los Cabos holding area to be sheltered by resort staff, this should be done within 12 hours after adult turtles had laid their eggs. This has two purposes, most important one to protect them and second to have records of specie and number of eggs.

The only authorized staff to participate is the one certified by Organization of Protection of Marine Turtle (Red de Proteccion de la Tortuga Marina), institute that respond to Federal and Municipal Government (SEMARNAT, ZOFEMAT and Municipal Direction of Ecology).

Once eggs are relocated, staff will place a sign with the following information:

• Nest number, amount o eggs nested, date of nesting, date scheduled to hatch and release
• Recycled water adequately treated to ensure water quality appropriate for the use to irrigate

Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort and Spa not only collaborate taking care of environment with conscious practices, but also organizing weekly beach cleaning campaign, official brigades participate every week to clean up your beach.

Recycling paper process:

Some of the claimed benefits of paper recycling are that recycling saves trees, reduces energy consumption, reduces pollution, creates desirable jobs, and saves money.

Being Dreams Los Cabos concern about our environment and community office paper is use twice at least; after his scrap paper is recycle to be sold at our Resort Gift Shop, proceeds will be donated to a Charitable Foundation named Foundation Questro.

Interaction with community:

Dreams Los Cabos is always willing to provide support to the community after a natural disaster occurs, offering food supplies, water and cloth.

Recently hotel members had an active participation pro Jimena Hurricane affected areas, special campaign was set in order to gather supplies and provide necessities to victims.

This type of activity is regularly done by Dreams Los Cabos; every 3 months the employees are invited by the hotel management in a teamwork with Foundation Questro and DIF, private and public charitable foundations respectively to join in this kind activity, supplying necessities that bring relief to the families that needed the most.

It also participates on social campaigns, supporting activities organized by a local civil association named Yo Reciclo (I recycle) organization focus on promoting recycling at Los Cabos to educate our community on this important ecological action, in this kind of campaigns the citizens and all organizations are convoked to recycle different sort of materials, such as glass, metal, plastic, textiles and electronics, the materials to be recycled are brought to a collection center to be sent from there to specialized companies to be cleaned and reprocessed into new materials for manufacturing.
